Job Description:

The Ugandan Kids Choir (http://www.childcareworldwide.org/index.php?page=ugandan_kids_choir) tours the U.S. beginning at different times of the year and offers a unique opportunity for individuals with hearts for children in developing nations!  The tours are initially for 11 months but may be extended to 15 months.  There are four to five individuals on the team; one or two come over from Uganda with the kids.

The following positions are open:

Tour Leader: Their most important role is speaking in churches and other venues as an ambassador for hundreds of children who need to be sponsored.  This is the person in charge of the team. They need to be all about servant leadership and team building. The ideal candidate needs to be able to make decisions and problem solve within guidelines, handle many responsibilities at once, build and lead a team and speak comfortably and passionately in front of large audiences.

Tour Admin: It’s all about relationships and administrative tasks! This person helps people in churches sponsor children, does all the money handling, miscellaneous administrative tasks and juggles many other responsibilities from running errands to helping the children with their school work.

Teacher: Using tour life (the things the kids see and experience) oversee the education of the choir children throughout tour. Keep the kids on track with the Ugandan curriculum so that when they return home they are at the appropriate level of school. Assist the team in other ways such as working at the sponsorship table after performances, and helping with rehearsals, along with any other tasks that need to be performed to help the tour run smoothly.

Bus Driver, A/V Tech: Drive the mini bus (CDL not required) and oversee audio/visual for the performances. This person will take care of all bus upkeep, loading and unloading equipment, and driving to each location. He or she will work with the church to set up and run A/V for sound check and performances.

All positions require an outgoing, people-friendly personality and ability to communicate well.  Flexibility and a positive attitude, love of children, a desire to be "on the road" for many months, an adventurous spirit and maturity are all a must! Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have the appropriate paperwork to work in the U.S.

Experience in cross cultural relationships, with a non-profit, and musical abilities are a plus!

Candidates must:
• Be comfortable with change
• Easily interact with all types of people and have good communication skills
• Have a strong work ethic, be able to handle many responsibilities at once
• Have 9 years driving experience, a good driving record and be able to drive a mini-bus (or willing to learn)
• Be detail oriented and organized

These are volunteer positions and each pays a stipend.
