World Concern is seeking a Desk Officer for Asia with experience. If you have worked internationally in a leadership role advising and supporting Senior Management while ensuring grants and proposal requirements are met, submit your CV and application now! The person selected for this position will have the ability to provide surge capacity to our overseas Senior Leadership Team and work collaboratively with Team members, stakeholders and beneficiaries both at Headquarters and internationally. The Desk Officer will be able to recommend solutions as issues arise, manage program data, and critical documents. Must agree with and support our mission, vision, and values. This position is based in our US office, with frequent travel to Asia.
Qualifications:
1. Christian Commitment: A deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, lifestyle that is consistent with biblical principles and a demonstrated commitment to spiritual growth and development.
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in relief and development or a related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
3. Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of program management experience in the relief and development field with proven ability to plan, organize, motivate, and control a process to achieve a goal in a multi-cultural environment.
Experience working with U.S. Government funded programs and knowledge of USAID/OFDA rules and regulations.
Minimum 1 year grant or technical writing experience.
4. Skills:
Language: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, donors, and others. Excellent copy/edit skills.
Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percentage; able to draw and interpret various graphs.
