The Accountant II helps empower CRISTA to meet its mission by supplying great accounting and finance support and excellent customer service primarily to the Accounting and Fundraising departments. The Accountant II will prepare corporate deposits and daily cash receipts journal entries and will be the primary point of contact for cash receipt questions. The Accountant II will prepare and file the monthly Excise tax return and review payable batches. The Accountant II will also assist with the processing of contributions, prepare wire transfer and bank/credit card fee journal entries and prepare reconciliations, audit and tax schedules as assigned. The Accountant II will conduct ministry research, perform special projects and prepare other reports as needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Christian Commitment: Godly leader and servant leadership style that is relational and reflective of John 10; personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and spiritual maturity.
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.
3. Experience:

Two years of experience with computerized accounting systems, journal entries and reconciliations.

Two years of experience with customer service.
4. Other Considerations:
Must be able to work independently, efficiently and professionally with a wide variety of personality types.
Must be able to quickly become proficient in a variety of software applications.
Ability to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers and customers.
5. Software and Equipment Used: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience: Accounting experience with cash receipts, contributions, complex reconciliations, and software implementations.
2. Software and Equipment Used: Experience with Agresso G/L software, corporate banking software and/or Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.

CRISTA Ministries Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
