Summary

 

The Payroll Administrator provides a multitude of duties which support the administrative needs of the payroll functions and various AP processes involving the payment of insurances and other administrative accounting tasks.  This position requires an individual who will multi-task effectively and work in a fast paced, high demand environment.  The Payroll Administrator will represent Northshore Christian Church in a professional manner, maintain confidentiality, demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, and also have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office, Publisher and Outlook.  This individual will be knowledgeable of, and support NCC and NCA’s mission, vision, values and ministry strategies.  Other general expectations include the willingness and desire to contribute in the areas of fellowship, encouragement, sacrifice, cooperation, prayer and devotions, as they seek to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and the church.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Payroll Administrator
  1. Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data
  2. Uses PNW system to produce accurate and timely payroll
  3. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  4. Prepares and distributes payroll related reports for management
  5. Stays current on payroll system to achieve alignment with HR and other related functions.
  6. Facilitates training for management and employees for the payroll system.

 

  • Facilitates training for management and employees for the payroll system.

 

  • Paying of insurances.

 

  • Attend necessary meetings as required.

 

  • Inputs information in contracts and agreements as needed.

 

  • Inputs and maintains 403B filing as needed.

 

  • Maintain effective communication with all NCC and NCA staff to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing organizational goals.

 

  • Personal commitment to growth in Christian living, including personal time in reading the Word, prayer and small groups.

 

  • Maintain working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry emphasis/position.

 

  • Ministerial Duties: Communicate church beliefs to members/guests/team members, lead prayer during staff gatherings, teach group devotions, pray with congregation members/visitors encountered around campus or following services, pray on the phone with those in need, share with others your personal testimony of faith in Christ and teach the Gospel to those who do not know God.

Skill Requirements

 

  • Minimum 2 years Payroll experience preferred.

 

  • Possesses a strong sense of urgency and outstanding communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a professional manner.

  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.  Refers all employee concerns regarding management to the HR Manager.

  • Articulate communicator and ability to interpret and explain written and statistical data to a wide range of audiences.

 

  • Proficient PC skills, to include MS Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook, with the ability to learn new software.

 

  • Ability to perform in a multi-task environment, with the ability to prioritize work requirements.

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a professional manner.

 

  • Excellent organizational skills.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

 

  • Preferred two years of experience in administration and payroll or equivalent work experience.

 

  • Preferred two years of experience in working with PC applications such as Microsoft Office and scheduling software such as EMS, and data base software.

 

  • Commitment to developing working knowledge and application of NCC mission, vision, values, dreams, and ministry strategy and displayed ability to implement within ministry emphasis. Active yearly contribution to the establishment or revisited organizational goals. Provides input and feedback responsibly.

 

 

 

Membership Requirements

 

It is preferred that the selected individual will attend NCC and become a participating member of Northshore Christian Church, including active participation in an NCC small group, within six (6) months of their date of hire.  If candidate is a member, in good standing at an evangelical church, this requirement may be waived.

 

Theological and behavioral alignment: Understands and agrees with Northshore’s belief statements, including Northshore’s Policy on Marriage and Sexuality. Agrees to behaving and teaching/counseling others only in a manner consistent with Northshore’s beliefs. Willing sign Northshore’s Moral Code of Conduct in attest to this agreement.

Alcohol and drug use: Agrees to adhere to Northshore policy on alcohol, drugs and controlled substances, including testing provisions.

Physical Requirements

 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to move about the campus and buildings; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit or reach with hands and arms.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
